North Bay is diversely connected on multiple self healing SONET rings; this network supports Optical Ethernet to both Sudbury and Toronto areas with connectivity into major cities in the U.S., Canada and the world.
North Bay has full digital restoration connectivity to Montreal, Windsor and Winnipeg.
North Bay also has a DWDM OC192/10GE modular long haul system that is scaleable and has the ability to incrementally add capacity as required.
North Bay has an internal robust Fibre Optics network that reaches out to all major areas of the City and is capable of diversely connecting customers to the Central office.
North Bay is served by a DMS100 Switch, located on McIntyre Street, capable of providing a full range of services available at Bell such as Centrex, Mega Link™, Bell Smart Touch™ services as well as High Speed Internet services.
A variety of LAN Extension and MPLS services are also offered out of the North Bay Switch
The DMS100 Switch provides a high degree of redundancy with a minimum interruption level in the event of a failure and is connected to a CCS7 network ensuring the most rapid call connections and accessibility to enhanced services.
North Bay is linked to dual toll centres in both Oshawa and Toronto to ensure survivability in the event of a major switch failure.
Local technicians are skilled in various technologies including Mitel, Norstar, SL1 and Octel systems as well as OE and LAN/WAN applications.
