Message from the Mayor

North Bay is definitely ‘Open for Business’ and the amount of construction cranes present in the city certainly proves that. Let me welcome you to the City through this web site and I am confident that you’ll want to head here in person to get a real feel for this city.

North Bay is a beautiful, safe, clean community of 54,000 people. We’ve added 1,300 new residents since the last census, as there are new commercial and industrial facilities opening every month.

Whether it's the new Hampton Inn, Shoppers Drug Mart or TD Bank, or the new 80,000-sq.ft. Goodyear building in our Industrial Park, or the Marina Point seniors' complex on our waterfront, the Mayor's Office of Economic Development is here to help.

Our Planning Department has a DART group in place (development application review team) where we assemble all the required planning and building folks to meet with you at one time to let you know what we need and what we can do for you. This system is a real winner and continues to serve us well.

I invite you to come and see North Bay with your own eyes – smell the clean air, look out over the city at beautiful Lake Nipissing just off our downtown, or Trout Lake as you head east. You’ll see why more and more companies are making North Bay their home.
