Business Retention & Expansion
To build and expand, every successful community needs a strong foundation. North
Bay believes that retaining the existing businesses in the community and working
to help them thrive is just as important to the health of our local economy as attracting
new business.
In 2005, the Mayor’s Office of Economic Development undertook a formal Business
Retention and Expansion Program (BR&E) in partnership with the North Bay &
District Chamber of Commerce. Designed to help gauge the health of the local economy
and collect data for use in long range planning, the BR&E program also served
to open the lines of communication with the business community.
This is an ongoing program in the Mayor’s Office of Economic Development, and we
continue to meet with businesses to review their needs and ensure that we are doing
everything possible for businesses to succeed and grow in the City. To meet with
an Economic Development Officer for a BR&E site visit, please
contact any member of our team to set up an appointment.
